"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before. Everyone can create. You don’t need money, position, or influence in order to create something of substance or beauty. You might say, I am not the creative type. If that is how you feel, think again. Creation is your opportunity in this life….. Start small. Creativity does not require a brush, a pen, or the keys of a piano. Don’t let the voice of critics paralyze you. You will make the World a better place. Improve, beautify, extend, smile, cultivate, develop, create."

14 Days of Valentine's

This was Corey's Valentine's from me. I loved putting it together for him. I saw the idea on Pinterest but made all my own stuff. I didn't want to post about it earlier, fearing that Corey would see it.

First I made my 'envelopes', 1-14.

Then you cut them out, fold over the ends, and write something inside. Some of my favorites I wrote are
-You are pretty dang handsome... and you have a cute butt.
-I love holding your hand.
-Thank you for being my #1 fan in everything I do.
-My heart belongs to you.
-Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite.
-I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my best friend/partner/lover/help meet you'll be.

Then glue the corners together in the middle, making sure the number is on top.

Then I attached them to a heart garland. I was so excited that I had this on hand. I bought it last year on clearance.

Add a card.

I asked Corey yesterday if he's enjoyed it. He told me that he has loved opening a letter everyday. It has given him something to look forward to each morning, and that he keeps the letter with him all day in his pocket. So sweet. I love him.

The kids made something for Corey as well for Valentine's Day and we mailed it off on Thursday. I hugged a stranger that day. She insisted on paying for Corey's package after Nathan told her "Daddy was at the army. But we can talk to him on the computer." I told her it was just for training. But she paid for it anyway. I had to hold back the tears, although I only succeeded half way. I guess there is still some good in this world.

Biggest Loser: Week 5

Previous weight: 149
Current weight: 147

2 more pounds. I sort of let meself indulge a little bit this past week. I was good the previous week, but I think I'm getting a little burned out having to keep track of my calories and such. I've been tired, not sleeping enough, and a little stressed this last week and sort of had the mind set of 'I deserve it, I'm going to eat this.' My workouts have still been there everyday and I enjoy them and push myself. I taught my Turbo class on Wednesday and it went really good. I enjoyed it and I think those who came to it enjoyed themselves as well. I really hope that I can do this soon. I secretly want someone to quit or get fired or maybe pregnant because then it would open a slot for me! lol. I'm happy I went down and am vowing to keep going with a brand new week. I am going to visit Corey next weekend which will be fabulous, but I'm already planning on not being too strict about what I eat. I'll still go to the gym with him, but I'm going to enjoy that ice cream and pasta that I know we're going to get.

I also had my measurements taken again today. The last time I did that was in the beginning of December. I sort of just forgot in January so these numbers are since December.

Bust: -1.50
Waist: -.25
Abdomen: -3.50
Hips: -2.25
Thighs: -2.0
Calves: -0.50
Arms: -1.00
Total inches: -11.00
Body fat %: -2.40%

I'm crazy excited about these numbers. I'm feeling it in my clothes. Pants that I used to squeeze into and have to sort of 'stretch out' for a couple of minutes before they were comfortable are now a loose right out of the dryer.

I'm going to continue chuggin' along. Monday starts phase 2 of my program and I'm excited to bring in some more cardio. I'm feeling stronger these days though. It feels good to say that a certain weight is now too easy when it was hard when I first started. Cool beans!! Let's do this!

Pictures

I wanted some more family pictures before Corey left and my mom's been talking about getting all of us together for awhile so I just had to make it all happen! The last time we got a whole family picture taken was at our wedding and the time before that was probably when I was like a sophomore in high school... maybe 9th grade... I'm not sure. Chalant Moments did a great job again. Thank You, Anbre!!

Mom of the Year

In the last 24 hours...
1. Nora lunged head first off the couch on to the living room floor while we were reading our scripture story.
2. Nora fell all the way down the whole flight of stairs while mom was putting peanut butter on Nathan's waffles.
3. I strap Nathan into his carseat to go to the gym this morning and realize that his carseat isn't buckled into the car. I don't even know how long it would have been like that. I haven't taken it out in awhile. I have no idea.

oh. my. gosh.
