I'm so proud of Parker. He's worked really hard and got it all done! Today was the Court of Honor. He joined up with Marcos Picket from the ward. It turned out great!

There is Light at the End of the Tunnel
We are getting carpet on THURSDAY! And did I mention we're getting it in our WHOLE HOUSE? Cool huh. So he's gonna do the basement on Thursday and Friday. Then we'll take a couple of days to move furniture down that is going downstairs and then we'll tear out the upstairs carpet before he comes back to do the rest. I can't wait.
This is Kerry. We couldn't have done it without him. And all the other friends who have helped us out.
These are from the day we painted. We rented a sprayer. It was good minus a little drama, but it all worked out. The pictures are horrible because of all the 'stuff' floating around in the air. It was funny to see how covered we were when the day was finally done. We stayed in one of our motel rooms for 2 nights because the smell was so strong.
And now we are ready for carpet! There's just a few more things we need to clear out. This is the 'office' which you see right when you come down the stairs.
Then you make a U-turn to walk down the 'hallway'. The door on your right is the door to the storage room. The midget door on the left is the playroom under the stairs. It's just painted white right now to get it finished. I haven't decided exactly how I want to decorate it yet. And then you see my glorious laundry room.
Here's the storage room, minus all the storage except for the food. All the boxes that were down in the basement are currently hiding in what we call the cubby. There's a little spot by the laundry room that gives you access to it. They're kind of hard to get to which is why my Christmas decorations are still up. I know. Gross. We'll probably start moving everything over tomorrow. I'm going to buy a bunch of plastic bins to store everything in, instead of cardboard boxes. I mean, why not?
Then there's the family room. We're going to have a projector and a pull down screen in front of the fireplace as our TV. I can't wait to not have a TV upstairs. Just quiet. That's what I want.
And Nathan's room.
So we're moving right along. This downstairs will be such a nice addition to our house and for our family. More pictures will be coming soon!!

So Much Engery
Why can't they share this a little with their tired moms and dads. Then again, if I slept for 10 hours a night and took a 2 hour nap maybe I'd be this way, too.

Just Playing
Nathan was making me dinner the other night with socks on his hands like gloves, a wooden spoon, and a pan. We had fun playing.
Then he kept wearing the little hat that goes on his mock Build-a-Bear. What a cutie.

And Corey is obsessed with this game and beat me. Turd. ;)

The Fire Engine Book
Nathan got this book and two others for Christmas. He insisted on reading them every story time for like a month or more. Thankfully (for mom and dad's sake) we are mostly back to taking turns with books. This is the result of reading the same book so many times.
I did edit out a couple of times when he got distracted. Here are the words so you can figure out what he's saying...
Ding, Ding, Ding! goes the alarm. The firemen slide down the pole.
Clang, Clang, Clang! goes the fire engine bell. The chief is on his way.
Here they come! Watch out! Make way for the hose car.
Hurry, hurry! Jump on the hook-and-ladder truck!
The people come running out to see the great big hook-and-ladder truck.
Here they are at the fire. The chief tells his men what to do.
Quick! Connect the hoses! S-s-s-s! goes the water
Clank, clank. Up go the ladders. Up go the firemen with their hoses.
Chop, chop, chop! go the axes. Crash! go the windows.
Down the ladders come the firemen. They jump into the net to save things from the fire!
Sput, sput, sput! Out goes the fire. Tired firemen and people go home.
Hurray for the brave firemen!

1st Friend Birthday Party
Nathan got invited to his first friend birthday party. Tayven and Nathan are nursery buds. Whenever I say something like "You get to go to nursery today," Nathan says something like "And play with Tayven?"
It was a pirate party. So they went on a treasure hunt around the house.
The treasure chest had candy, eye patches, earrings, and necklaces for the kids.
Then they played "Stick the eye patch on the pirate." They were stickers with numbers on them.
Their prize for playing was a party blower. It took Nathan a little bit to figure it out. He kept trying to make noise with it like a kazoo. But eventually he got it and played with it a bunch.
Giving Tayven his birthday present.
Eating birthday cake. The best part! Even mom got some... :)
We ask him what a pirate says and he says "Rarrrrr!" Then we say "No, Rrrrrrrr!" and he says "Oh yeah, Rrrrrrr!"

Junior Prom
Corey had drill this weekend so we were down at my parent's house and it just so happened that it was also prom. So I was able to see my stud muffin little brother all dressed up.
So weird that he's old enough to go to prom. I can't quite wrap my head around it...
My mom and I followed him to his date's house so we could take pictures. Yes, we were that annoying.
He rented a cadillac for the day.
Prom was at the capital as usual.
The high school has a mother/son/daddy/daughter dance after promenade.
I'm really proud of him and the young man that he is turning into. Ah, *sniff*sniff*tear*. Love you, Parker!
