"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before. Everyone can create. You don’t need money, position, or influence in order to create something of substance or beauty. You might say, I am not the creative type. If that is how you feel, think again. Creation is your opportunity in this life….. Start small. Creativity does not require a brush, a pen, or the keys of a piano. Don’t let the voice of critics paralyze you. You will make the World a better place. Improve, beautify, extend, smile, cultivate, develop, create."

I'm the mom of a one year old...so weird.

Nathan's birthday was on Sunday. Here's some favorite pictures from the day.

His Lego birthday cake. It's his favorite toy to play with. And the goodies table at the party.

Our awesome family and friends.

Nathan pulled the lid of his sippy cup off and his juice poured all down the front of him. He was wearing a bib, so most of the juice just slid off and was soaked up with the seat of his pants.

Opening gifts

While we were singing. He really wanted to tough the flame on the candle.

Eating the cake. He wasn't quite sure of it at first. But all he needed was a little taste.

Sharing with Mom and Dad.

The messy face. Yes, there's frosting in his hair. It's inevitable when you have so much.

I was surprised how much he actually ate.

And the best part of all, getting cleaned up. He acts like this no matter how dirty he is or isn't.
