Since my massive cry fest of a breakdown a few weeks ago, things have really been pretty good. Nathan and I have tried to stay busy doing various things and we've been having a lot of fun.
So I realize it's the end of the month, but I have cute pictures of a few things we've done this month. I know, you were all dying of excitement waiting for them. I will now spare you of your misery.
We went to the Aquatic Center for an MSA activity. Nathan loved it. Our neighbor, Bryn'n, took Nathan down the water slide. He liked it. Dad would be very proud at how much he likes the water.
Corey was gone over Father's Day (doesn't that seem like so long ago? yeah, he's been gone for awhile...) so we've been working on his gift to give him when he comes home. This is the back of the t-shirt. That fabric paint was mucho-goodo. It went through on to the front of the shirt so now we have to put hand prints on the front as well to cover the leaks. But I'll make sure to put something in between the t-shirt layers this time. I also had Nathan in an old shirt I didn't really care about thinking that would be perfect and not to worry about the clothes he had on underneath. Yeah, never again. It leaked through that as well. On to a new shirt that I had just bought and he had only worn once or twice. Duh, mom. I guess mistakes are how you learn? It will still be cute and I've still let him wear that shirt. I'm not wasting a good $5!!

The 4th of July holiday was so much fun. We stayed in Logan, just cuz we could, and did all kinds of things with the friends who stayed here as well.
Breakfast in the morning. Classic wheat waffles (which have become famous in the trailer court, thanks to Corey's Aunt Tam for even giving me her recipe so we could also enjoy the yummy goodness!) and buttermilk syrup (which I was roped into making by Sean...and I'm glad because it's so good!), eggs, super tastey breakfast casseroles, bacon, fruit, juice, and probably more yummy goodness that I forgot. Funny thing is, we had an extension cord from my house to plug in the waffle makers and a griddle for the bacon and we kept blowing a fuse. I kept turning things off and unplugging others each time it happened (I think it was 4 or 5 times) thinking that would help and it never changed anything so we ended up taking a couple waffle makers to another house. The kids all had fun playing while most of the adults chatted. p.s. I have no idea why Nathan was crying in the bottom of the big picture. I don't even think I realized he even was. Which is kind of funny...

That afternoon, Nathan and I had our own fun after nap. Sprinklers, water balloons, and a slip n slide. Jared and Kandice joined us later and they were fun, too.
Nathan with the water balloons was hilarious. The first time I gave him one, he threw it on the cement, I think just expecting it was like a regular ball (which he loves). So when he threw it and it popped, he just stared at the ground for probably 30 seconds with a completely blank look on his face. He came back for another and after that, he was hooked. We couldn't fill them up fast enough to keep up with him coming back for more to pop them! I really wish that I had it on camera because it was really funny. After the water stuff, we changed into dry clothes for a BBQ and firworks after. I bought snaps and sparklers mostly for Nathan but was willing to share with others if they insisted. The snaps were a hit. I showed Nathan how to stomp on them because he wasn't throwing them hard enough. The next day he tried to stomp on them again. The sparklers were also fun, well I should say sparkler, singular. Even though I was trying to be really careful and I stayed by him the whole time, as soon as it went out he grabbed the end and burnt his little fingers. I felt like a bad mom. But, he now knows what hot is and tells me every time he walks by the BBQ grill, firepit, or stove. Smart kid. I guess.

I don't have pictures of the other fun things we've done, but we went camping, had dinner with many friends, had my mom come up and tend Nathan for the day while I worked on some bookkeeping work stuff, went swimming again in our kiddie pool, and hung out with other dad-less moms and kids (because their hubbys were also gone with Corey). I've also been working on a little project to put in my house and I wanted to get it done before Corey came home to see if he'd notice. But, I'm having a few troubles with it so hopefully I'll get it done and post pictures soon. Sometimes, I think I'm a little too ambitious...Upcoming this week, I'm doing a bread making enrichment activity (so if you're in my ward, here's your reminder about iCook on Thursday at 7:00) which I am really excited to do, I getting a few things ready for Corey coming home, and there's another holiday this weekend.
Only one more week.
I can do this.
